Titanium Scrap
Recycling

    TITANIUM TURNING RECYCLING
Turnings in the untreated state are predominantly wetted with lubricants
    (usually 4-9%).

In the necessity of this results that the melting plants must build expensive filtration systems by the environmental regulations to keep the gases/vapors back. Furthermore increases the cleaning effort of the melting pot by increased slagging.
Turnings in loose form have usually a higher oxidation in the melting process. This leads to material loss of important raw materials.

Another aspect of the professional treatment is the recovery value of a pure commodity position of titanium and its alloy.
Turnings are generally used as an aggregate for steelmaking. This is largely because the contain contaminants during processing. However, a valuable raw material for aerospace, medical technology and the technical capabilities of the pure base material is lost. This base material has to be won again until costly and a high energy input (titanium sponge).

Our economical main interest is in the prepared recovery of pure titanium material free of contaminants. This can be used as a base material for the economically significant area after possible treatment..

Value adding sampling
We sample and analyze your residues on Ti-metal content:
  • Sampling by internationally recognized methods

  • First-analysis for classification of assessment options

  • Sample drying for determination of the different moisture contents

  • Chemical analysis / melting sample for exact rating of the metallic content
  • Assessment of possible uses and recycling facilities
From the result results your remuneration to the content of the assessable metal.
Processing
We process loose turnings to economically usable and environmentally compatible melting stock.
  • Shredding of the loose turnings to homogeneous size

  • Lubricating oil liberation by ecological washing of the loose turnings

  • Drying of residual moisture

  • As far as possible, separation of foreign substances / differing metal content

  • Pressing into briquettes with high density

Advantage

Processing provides an environmentally friendly and metal lossless metling process. It results from the processing of a lower slagging, lower crucible maintenance, lower energy consumption. The briquetting allows a more efficient charging of the materials and a lower loss on ignition during the melting process.

Environmentally friendly cycle

Standard material
  • Titanium CP1/2 (Grade 1/2) DIN: 3.7025/3.7035 Ti 99,55%, Fe <0,3%
  • Titanium CP3/4 (Grade 3/4) DIN: 3.7055/3.7065 Ti 99,20%, Fe <0,5 %
  • Titanium-Alloy Grade 5 DIN: 3.7164/3.7165 Ti90% Al6% V4%
These also include common TiAl6V4 alloys of medical area (dental technology / medical prostheses)
  • At best rating
  • Other standards and qualities of titanium turnings are assumed each best rating of the current market demand. Disturbing foreign ingredients are tested for separability in relation to the processing facility.
